Northwind Workshop

A workshop on the Northwind block technique that was shown at the November meeting will be held on Saturday, March 8th at St. Mark's church in Iowa City. Cost is $10.00 and two blocks from each person will be donated to the Service Committee. Come join us and learn how to make this interesting block!  Contact a member of the Service Committee if you have any questions.

 

 

Workshop Details

When:  Saturday, March 8, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location:  St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 2675 E. Washington St., Iowa City.

Supply List:

  • Bring your own lunch.
  • Sewing machine and notions
  • 9 1/2" or 12 1/2" square ruler
  • 18" minimum straight ruler
  • rotary cutter
  • minimum of 2 light and 2 dark 9" squares (pre-washed)

You can bring the lights in the same print and the darks in the same print. This will only make four blocks so bring more fabric to make as many as you want. We will be doing an exchange with the rest of the class to make the quilt interesting.

You can use any kind of print except for homespun.
